Importing custom data points from an Excel File

PatSeer allows you to import your own custom data such as ratings, comments or custom fields from a Excel file. This is useful because in many cases you already have some data in an Excel (.xlsx) file or sometimes its also too tedious to update each custom field data online for each record when there are many records in your project.

To import file from external source

1. Open the Project and Click on Add Record option.
2. Select the File Import tab.
3. Select File Type as Generic Excel.
4. Select Skip to skip similar field data else Overwrite the field data.
5. Click Choose File and browse to the location to upload a file and click Add Records.
6. Click Add Records.
7. The log will be displayed showing matched and unmatched records.
8. Click Import.

The field data is added to the records search results screen.

Note: You can download a sample Excel file for creating data for field import. This file will give you an idea of what your column names should be so that there is an exact match with the custom fields and other metadata within the project resulting in a smooth import process.
