Copy / Merge Metadata While Deduplication of Records

If you are working within a project and would like to view and analyze only granted records or single member per family, then you can restrict the results by using deduplicating options. While removing other members, you now have the option to retain metadata for the selected record.

You can copy or merge all project metadata such as Categories, Custom Fields, Ratings, etc. when deduplicating records. This ensures that the metadata is transferred to the record you have selected.

When you are within a project, you can click on Dedup under Edit drop down menu to launch Remove Duplicates window

There are 3 main options:

  • Update Blanks Only: this will update only blank entries with the metadata of the family member
  • Overwrite: It will overwrite existing metadata if any
  • Smart Merge: It will merge metadata of the family member with the existing data of the record.

Further, while removing records from a particular project, you can even remove project entry from records in search results page. This can be done checking the remove project entry button.

Checking this option will not reflect the project name for selected records in your search results page.
