Create a Boolean query for your design search

In Quick search form, you can search by using text fields such as Title, Claims or Value-added content which is an AI generated field. Autofill Locarno class while typing

The quick search form in Industrial Design now provides suggestions for class definitions as you type, making it easier to understand and refine your search for more accurate results.

Note:

  • You can form a Boolean query in the VAC field which will give the contextually similar design patents to the text entered.
  • There are also some AI generated field codes  like Shape, Functional Elements, Materials, Patterns present in Other sections which will allow you to search by different aspects of design.
  • Quick search form has two buttons: Get Count and Search. Click on Get Count to see the record count for the query. Click on Search to view the Search Results.
  • It is not mandatory to fill all the fields to search.
  • You can search using the national class filed codes for countries such as US, JP and CA

Limit - option to limit search query by another field

Limit option can be used to limit the search results based on the different field options provided such as by classification or Assignee etc. Using this feature, you can see only those Classifications or Companies that have matched your existing search query. So, this brings greater efficiency when restricting your data set at the search query stage itself.

Additionally, you can filter the Alive (active) Records using the Limit option.
