Full text annotation - highlight and comment on any Full text portion of record
You have the capability to highlight and comment on any full-text portion of the record. When reviewing patent text, it is not easy and tedious to retrieve relevant information, identify important sections, and make a note of the same. Annotations help you in highlighting and adding your notes/ comments to the particular paragraph that you want then save the same.
How to annotate text in full view of records
- Open the Detailed View > full view of a record
- Using the Mouse, drag and select the text portion which you need to annotate
- Click on the icon to launch the Annotate editor
- You can now choose to highlight the text as red/yellow/green and optionally you can also enter a comment or tag it with a keyword

5. You can also set permissions for shared users to be able to view or edit the annotation. If not checked, then all annotations done by you will only be visible to you. But if you set the annotation to be viewed by shared users then they will also be able to see your highlights and annotations
6. Clicking on Save will save the text and highlight level
7. The text now gets highlighted and when you do a mouse over the text you will see the added comment and the user ID

All annotations remain saved in the project and if you reopen the record again at a later time you will see the highlighted portions and their comments/tags.
- You can even edit/ delete the set annotation
- Once you save the annotation, you will be able to view the list of all the annotations in Annotations tab present on right side of Full View. You can undock the tab to view the same
- You can view the list of annotations created by self or shared by me/ with me in the annotation viewer
You can also use annotations as filters to filter the records that contain the text that you have annotated. This helps in finding the records that contain the annotated text.
